Thompson signs new deal at Dale
Thompson, 20, has progressed through the ranks at Dale and made his debut in May 2006.
He has so far made 62 appearances, scoring six goals, and is delighted to have committed himself to the club.
Thompson told the official website: "Of course I am happy and this means I can look forward to my third season as a professional.
"Last season saw me involved in more games and scoring a few goals but it is now about continuing to improve and making the step up to the next level."
