Thompson: No rest for Rochdale

The unfashionable Lancashire outfit have not won a promotion since 1969 but they look a decent bet to end that run this season. Thompson came off the bench to give Keith Hill's men a 1-0 win at Shrewsbury on Saturday and send them nine points clear at the League Two summit. Thompson said: "It was nice to come on and grab the winner. "We've just now got to take it one game at a time and we can't get ahead of ourselves. "There's teams in the past that have done that and slipped up."
