Stanton's appeal succeeds

Nathan Stanton is free to play in Rochdale's League Two encounter with Morecambe after winning his appeal against the red card he was handed in Saturday's victory at Aldershot Town.

An FA disciplinary hearing on Wednesday ruled that the defender should not have been dismissed.

Stanton was sent off in the closing stages of Dale's 4-2 victory when he conceded a penalty by bringing down Marvin Morgan.

Boss Keith Hill had said after the match: "We're going to try to get the card rescinded because from the footage that we've seen on the TV and on the DVD we feel that we have a case."
