Shaw suffers injury setback

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has confirmed that striker Jon Shaw has suffered a setback in his recovery from a nagging hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old striker has made just three appearances for Dale since his summer arrival from Halifax Town, having struggled to reach full fitness.

That has left Hill pondering whether to extend Jordan Rhodes' loan deal, as the youngster has impressed since moving to Spotland from Ipswich Town.

Hill told the Rochdale Observer: "The possibility of extending Jordan's loan is still being assessed, but we have other irons in the fire as well.

"Jon's slight recurrence is annoying and every time I say he's going to be ready we seem to suffer a setback."
