Seven released as Dale trim squad
Dale were beaten 2-1 by Gillingham on Sunday night to see their hopes of a first promotion in 40 years ended.
Striker Lee Thorpe is the only one of the seven released who featured in the two legs against the Gills, although midfielder Mark Jones was an unused substitute in the tie.
Goalkeepers James Spencer and Sam Russell and defensive trio Nathan D'Laryea, Scott Wiseman and Tom Newey have also been told they have no future at Spotland.
Hill has also made midfielder Clark Keltie and strikers Lee McEvilly and Kallum Higginbotham available for transfer, but has offered new deals to midfielders Gary Jones, Joe Thompson and Ciaran Toner.
Hill told the club's official website: "It's the one day of the year you don't look forward to, either as a player or a manager but it is a part of life."
