Curran returns for Dale Rochdale welcome back forward Craig Curran for the visit of high-flying Fleetwood. Curran was given a straight red card in the closing stages of the penalty shoot-out defeat to rivals Bury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy following a rash challenge on Shakers goalkeeper Trevor Carson, but the former Carlisle man has now served his three-game ban. Midfielder Ray Putterill misses out once more for John Coleman's side and is still around three weeks away from action due to a groin injury. Dale are set for a change of penalty takers following Bobby Grant's failure from the spot in the midweek defeat to Plymouth. "It was a toss up between who would take the penalty between Bobby and Ashley Grimes and unfortunately I went for the wrong one," said Coleman. Reece Gray (broken leg) and goalkeeper Matt Edwards (wrist) remain long-term absentees. Curtis Obeng is available to make his Fleetwood debut. Former Manchester City youngster Obeng joined the Cod Army on loan from Swansea this week and could feature in his favoured right-back slot after receiving international clearance. Town boss Micky Mellon still has a host of injury doubts among his senior players. Captain Jim McNulty (calf) is battling to return at centre-back, while experienced midfielder Damien Johnson (hamstring) is also in a race to be fit. Defender Shaun Beeley (thigh) remains a doubt while forward Andy Mangan is still on the sidelines with a knee problem. David Ball and Jon Parkin are battling for a place in the starting XI up-front, where Steve Gillespie has netted in each of his last two outings.
