Niall Canavan suspended for Rochdale's clash with Fleetwood

Rochdale will be without the suspended Niall Canavan for Saturday's Sky Bet League One home clash with Fleetwood.

Canavan was sent off in last Saturday's 2-2 draw at Bristol Rovers and must now serve a one-match ban.

Fellow defender Scott Tanser came off at half-time in that game due to illness and it remains to be seen whether he plays a part at the weekend.

Midfielder Ollie Rathbone and forward Reuben Noble-Lazarus (ankle) are still not yet ready for action.

Jimmy Ryan is fine to feature for Fleetwood.

The midfielder was withdrawn at half-time of the Cod Army's 2-2 draw against Coventry with a knock but has been given the all-clear after undergoing a scan this week.

Right-back Michael Duckworth, who dropped out of the starting line-up to be replaced by Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin, is also over the illness which saw him miss out against the Sky Blues.

Striker Alex Jakubiak, yet to make his Fleetwood debut, is fully over a groin strain but Aaron Amadi-Holloway remains out because of a hamstring injury.
