Cummins set for Dale bow

Rochdale's new signing Graham Cummins is hoping to make his debut for the club against derby rivals Bury.

Striker Cummins arrived on loan from Preston this week and will be vying with George Donnelly, Scott Hogan and Joe Bunney for a place in the starting line-up.

Skipper Peter Cavanagh is also back in contention after sitting out a three-game ban and manager Keith Hill must decide whether to recall him or retain Brian Barry-Murphy in central midfield.

Hill has no new selection worries, while midfielders Bastien Hery and Matty Done are pushing for recalls as Dale look to register their first win since the opening day of the season.

Bury boss Kevin Blackwell could hand goalkeeper Brian Jensen his first league start.

The 38-year-old made his Shakers debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Port Vale in midweek and he looks likely to keep his place in the side if fellow-stoppers Rob Lainton and Trevor Carson fail to overcome injuries.

Lainton is struggling with a shoulder problem while Carson is carrying a knock from the victory over Cheltenham.

Midfielder Chris Sedgwick scored Bury's only goal in Tuesday's clash and he will be hoping to keep his place in the side.
