Lancashire banned for Dale

Rochdale will be without suspended defender Ollie Lancashire for the visit of Accrington but striker Ian Henderson returns from his ban.

Lancashire was sent off late on in the midweek defeat at Torquay for two yellow-card offences and sits out a one-game suspension, while Henderson is back in contention following his dismissal in last Friday's draw at Bury.

Striker Scott Hogan remains doubtful after missing out on Tuesday night due to a knee injury sustained against Bury, so George Porter, George Donnelly and Joe Bunney will be in the frame again.

Midfielder Matty Lund returned as an unused substitute at Torquay following injury and could feature as Dale bid to bounce back from their first defeat in seven.

Accrington will receive a double boost in their defence this week with Nicky Hunt and Peter Murphy both back from suspension.

Murphy served a one-game ban for his red card against Chesterfield while full-back Hunt has missed back-to-back contests after picking up 10 yellow cards this season.

Defender Michael Liddle will definitely miss out with a minor hamstring complaint but Dean Winnard is expected to play despite receiving a blow to the head against Hartlepool.

Other than Liddle and young striker Marcus Carver (shin), Accrington boss James Beattie has plenty of options at his disposal.
