Dale ease relegation fears

Rochdale eased any lingering fears of being dragged into the npower League Two relegation scrap with a convincing 4-1 victory over Wycombe at Spotland.

The Chairboys took the lead against the run of play in the 16th minute when Stuart Lewis lashed a shot across the face of Josh Lillis' goal into the far corner of the net. Rochdale's appeals for what appeared a clear foul a on Shane Cansdell-Sherriff by Josh Scowen in the build up to the goal were waved away by referee David Phillips.

The hosts felt justice was done three minutes later when they equalised. Andrew Tutte's free-kick was partially cleared as far as Ian Henderson and the home debutant fired home from 10 yards.

Rochdale were ahead minutes into the second half when Tutte's cross to the near post was headed into his own net by Michael Harriman.

George Donnelly, an early substitute for Terry Gornell, slotted home the third after good work from Henderson and netted his second in the closing minutes, heading Michael Rose's cross beyond Jordan Archer.
