Forest beaten by Rochdale

Rochdale added to Stuart Pearce's woes as their 1-0 win at Spotland sent Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup.

Peter Vincenti's first-half spot-kick proved enough for the League One side to spring a surprise against their Championship opponents and progress to the fourth round for the second year running.

Forest started well enough with Dale goalkeeper Josh Lillis called into action to block a David Vaughan free-kick, but the home side took the lead in the 12th minute and dominated the rest of the half.

Referee Gary Sutton ruled that Danny Fox brought Joe Rafferty down in the area, and Vincenti slotted home from the penalty spot.

Vincenti had a clear chance to double the lead minutes later but volleyed Callum Camps' cross high and wide.

And just before the break Matt Done seized on an Eric Lichaj error and rounded goalkeeper Dorus de Vries, the Forest stopper just about doing enough to prevent him scoring though his parry fell to Jamie Allen. The Rochdale midfielder had an unguarded goal to fire at but took a touch too many and was robbed of possession by Fox.

Forest had chances in the second half but Chris Burke glanced a headed attempt wide and Britt Assombalonga was denied firstly by a Lillis save and later a block by defender Ashley Eastham.
