Murray makes Dale switch

Rochdale have signed Carlisle United striker Glenn Murray on loan until January, with a view to a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old had been on loan at Stockport County earlier this season after falling out of favour with the Cumbrians, having moved to Brunton Park in December 2004 from Workington.

Dale boss Steve Parkin told the club's official website: "We are delighted to have finally got him, because we have been chasing him for around six weeks.

"He is a player who is full of energy, enthusiasm and bags of desire and we are really glad we could bring him to the football club.

"He will bring something different to our strikeforce."
