Rochdale boss Keith Hill was delighted to see Lee McEvilly start his second spell at the club with the winner in the 1-0 victory over Mansfield Town.

The 25-year-old striker has rejoined Dale on loan from Accrington Stanley and was on target at Spotland as his side edged out the Stags at the weekend.

Hill told the Manchester Evening News: "Lee as a starter is a one in two goalscorer and has obvious ability.

"I think it is fair to say that he has got lost somewhere on his footballing journey and we want to recreate a player that his potential showed him to be.

"He is still only 25 and was very happy to come back here and overjoyed to make a goal-scoring return.

"We put a lot of trust in him as we have in all our young players and we give them the opportunity to express themselves in a manner that other clubs won't."
