Rochdale have signed Kelvin Lomax on loan from neighbours Oldham Athletic in a bid to cover a defensive injury crisis at Spotland.
The 20-year-old full-back has joined Dale on a one-month loan deal after manager Keith Hill saw Simon Ramsden, Gary Brown, Nathan Stanton and Nathan D'Laryea all ruled out through injury.
"He is hungry, comes from good stock and is a good player," Hill told the club's official website.
"(Oldham boss) John Sheridan rates him very highly and he has given us the opportunity to bring him here to add to his experience.
"We certainly need a full-back considering the fact that we have four of them in the treatment room."
Lomax has gone straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Barnet.
