Rochdale skipper Gary Jones has hailed the club's impressive start to the season following Saturday's 2-0 win at promotion favourites Southampton. The midfielder scored one of the finest goals of his career at St Mary's with a stunning 25-yard strike as Keith Hill's men upset the odds. The result left Dale two points off leaders Sheffield Wednesday and left Jones and his team-mates in buoyant mood. "That was the best one I've ever hit, the sweetest strike without a doubt," said Jones of his goal. "The points are really important and that's all, in a week's time, the supporters will be looking at. "These are special days for a club like Rochdale."
