Rochdale skipper Gary Jones insists all the club's best players are still at Spotland - despite the sale of star winger Will Buckley.
Boss Keith Hill has admitted Buckley was sold against his wishes as the League Two leaders bid to secure their first promotion since 1969.
Yet Jones is adamant the most influential members of Hill's squad are still at Spotland.
The midfielder said: "We have come through the transfer window with the loss of Will Buckley but overall I think we are all pleased to see the rumours turn out to be unfounded regarding certain players leaving.
"You have to keep your best players if you want the best out of the season and despite the sale of Will, we have managed to retain our best."
