Home comforts suit Dale boss Hill

The two sides warmed up for their end-of-season clash by bringing their league campaigns to a close against each other, and Gills came out on top when Curtis Weston's strike gave them the morale-boosting win - but Hill was happy with the outcome. "Things couldn't have worked out any better for us with respect to the travel and training arrangements," he said. "I don't like losing matches, but I was prepared to lose that one. "I'm really happy that we're northern-based for Thursday's first leg, we can still get three good days' training in, we can still sleep in our own beds and then we've got a couple of days before we travel down to Gillingham. "That scenario works perfectly for me and I'm glad it wasn't the other way around. "That said, nothing is won and lost, except that game and for me that game meant nothing and I was prepared to sacrifice that one. Our preparations now will be to win the first leg on Thursday and take a winning ethic into Sunday's second leg."
