Holness could make return to Dale
The 20-year-old has been at Holker Street since January, but Dale are short of numbers at the back and Hill could move to bolster his squad.
"We have two central defenders on nine bookings and it's likely both will miss games through suspension in the coming weeks," Hill told the Observer .
"Hopefully they don't pick up that further booking any time soon, but I think it's a matter of time before we recall Marcus.
"And it may be that we look at recruiting a loan signing because we could be missing two defenders at the same time."
