Hills urges fans to get behind players

Manager Keith Hill was disappointed to hear some Rochdale supporters turning against their own side during the home defeat to Exeter. Hill criticised those fans for their negativity as Dale tried to come back from the first-half goal scored by Jamie Cureton. "Prior to the goal it was a fair and even contest but when you concede that type of goal at home negativity creeps onto the pitch from the supporters and players start to tighten up," said Hill. "It's a shame because we have a good squad of players and they shouldn't be put under that kind of pressure. When you are losing you need to feel confidence from the supporters that they believe the team can salvage something from the game. I don't think that was evident." Hill added: "We created chances in the first half but once they got their goal they did a job on us. "They have very good players and they were able to protect their lead. It was a very good away performance but I was very disappointed by the manner in which we conceded."
