Rochdale manager Keith Hill is confident his side can clinch promotion this season after they eased to a 3-0 victory against Barnet on Tuesday.
Dale are now fifth with three games of the season left as they aim to seal their first promotion since 1974.
"The players see themselves as promotion candidates and we'll be looking to galvanise our position in the top seven," Hill told Dale's official website.
"There's nine points between ourselves and Chesterfield with a similar goal difference and it's a lot for them to do to catch us now.
"There are still massive games between now and the end of the season but we have a good squad and it may be a case of giving a few of the players within the squad, who haven't played as often, an opportunity.
"Having said that we know how football is and it might still go to the last game of the season and it seems to be the case with Rochdale that we can't take anything for granted."
