Hill praises Dale response

Published: 07 Feb 2010 - 08:17:07

Rochdale boss Keith Hill hailed his side's performance after they stretched their lead at the top of League Two to six points with a 2-0 victory over Crewe at Spotland.Chris O'Grady's early strike and an own goal from Mark Tootle sealed all three points for Dale, who successfully bounced back from Monday's defeat by Bury.Bournemouth's draw against Cheltenham ensured the Lancashire outfit now have a six-point advantage at the summit. And Hill said: "This wasn't a case of bouncing back from a defeat, it was just a case of doing what we do, winning games."It was really important for us to get back to winning ways, otherwise people would have been asking questions and the supporters would have been saying `here we go again'."We don't have a game now for two weeks, so we can't affect what other teams are doing - we can only affect things on the field when we play - and that's why we needed to win this game and keep people thinking `Rochdale won again'."
