Hill: Naivety cost us
Rochdale boss Keith Hill felt his side were naive in conceding a late winner against Colchester. The home side were on top when they were hit on the counter attack in the 89th minute, Ian Henderson collecting David Mooney's pass and dinking the ball over Josh Lillis to condemn Dale to a 2-1 defeat.Hill said: "We probably deserved something out of the game but we've been undone by a quality counter attack."You are at your most vulnerable when in possession and we were trying to pursue a winning goal when we conceded the second. We've got to have a defensive brain about us, that means keeping the back door closed."From their point of view it was a great counter move, but we should be guarding against that."Looking at the whole picture, I'm really pleased with the lads' commitment and endeavour. If those don't remain then I'd be unhappy. I wouldn't say this was a loss of form, I feel Colchester edged it because of a little bit of quality and a little bit of naivety from us."
