Chris Dagnall put Dale ahead after 19 minutes and although Marc Pugh restored parity, the Bulls fell behind again just before the break as on-loan Norwich winger Simon Whaley finished off a clinical counter attack.[LNB]Hereford were still in the contest at the start of the second half, but Will Buckley's effort and a striker's finish from defender Craig Dawson handed Dale the points.[LNB]"It was a difficult game because they are a good team with ability on the counter attack and pace in good positions," said Hill. "They caused us a few problems, particularly at the start.[LNB]"We didn't set off at the tempo I expect, but it was great to go in at half-time 2-1 up and the second goal was an unbelievable goal, the type of goal that would grace any division.[LNB]"We won the game comfortably in the end but it could have been very different because they did have a few threats. We are only nine games into the season but we're reasonably happy."[LNB][LNB]
