Hill: Players must step up

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has urged his whole team to step up to the plate and ensure their campaign does not peter out. Dale are 13 points adrift of the play-off places after beating Notts County in midweek but the win at least further banished any lingering relegation fears. Yet the ambitious Hill wants his side to keep on challenging at the right end of the table and has urged his men to follow the example of midfielder Gary Jones and defender Craig Dawson, who scored the winning goal against the Magpies. Hill said: "Craig scored again but apart from him and Gary Jones, we need the other players to step up to the mark. "That win takes us closer to what you would expect to keep you in this division which I suppose was our remit at the beginning of the season, but that's boring when you're not competing for anything."
