Hill: Le Fondre sale drained spirit
The 22-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract with Rotherham after joining the club for an undisclosed fee.
His loss was felt by Dale at Hillsborough as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat after goals from Jermaine Johnson (two) and Etienne Esajas.
Hill said: "When you consider the obstacles we've had to overcome this week it is very difficult for the side to look on the positive side of things.
"It doesn't help the squad and we're very low on numbers. It's unfortunate we had to sell Adam but needs must and hopefully we will be given the opportunity to strengthen because we need to.
"We can't see the spirit of the squad get drained by off-the-field business."
