Hill happy with battling Dale

Rochdale boss Keith Hill paid tribute to his side after they ground out a 3-1 home win over Bristol Rovers. Despite having Cian Bolger sent off, the Pirates seemed to be heading for a creditable draw when Will Hoskins cancelled out Craig Dawson's opener. But late goals from substitutes Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Matt Done earned Dale the points. Hill said: "When you look at the opposition you could see their gameplan was to come here and frustrate us - they didn't have to come here and have a go at us. They have been conceding goals, so people have got to accept that it is going to be very difficult to break teams down. "I can understand the strategy employed by opponents, but we`ve got to be more patient because we can`t allow apprehension to seep onto the pitch. I'm sick of repeating myself about that - it's for the good of the players, not for me. "It was a bit worrying at times, the way the game was going, because I felt it was all a bit lacklustre, lacking in energy and we could have been done. "But if we're talking about Bristol Rovers in a League One clash being a banana skin, then someone needs to give me a wake-up call. The opposition deserve a lot more respect than that."
