Hill hails in-form Jones

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has paid a glowing tribute to long-serving club captain Gary Jones. The 33-year-old midfielder, now in his second spell with the Spotland outfit, bagged a brace to maintain his side's unbeaten start to life in League One against Brighton. Jones levelled twice at the Withdean Stadium - first from the penalty spot and then with a well-judged lob deep into injury time - to snatch a 2-2 draw. "Gary Jones is obviously important to us, but I think he realises the rest of the team is important to him," Hill told the Manchester Evening News. "He gives us experience, even though he is playing like a 21-year-old. "There is no one stand-out player, but he is integral. That's why Gary has been with me and David Flitcroft (assistant manager) through our development for the last three-and-a-half years. "He is a friend of mine and David's, but he's a great player as well. He's instrumental to us and the club."
