Hill hails 'excellent' Dale display

Dale were down to 10 men just 15 minutes into the game when Nathan Stanton received a red card for fouling Marvin Morgan but were awarded a spot kick in stoppage time when Chris Dagnall's shot hit Scott Donnelly's arm and Tom Kennedy slammed home the penalty to win it for the home side. Hill said: "I thought it was an excellent 10-man performance. We allowed them to have the ball in negative areas and we had to break with accurate passing, which is something we managed well. "The sending off of Nathan Stanton upset our plans but we defended very well considering the young players we had at the back. The referee's decision was probably right for the sending off but with respect to the penalty, it was a 50/50 decision. "We had one against us last week at Port Vale and we should be top of the league with six points and no goals conceded, but I would happily have taken a point when we went down to 10 men with just 15 minutes played."
