Hill confident of Dale success

Kevin Gallen's second-half brace secured the Blue Square Premier side a place in the second round, but Hill refused to be downbeat.

His side are currently riding high in League Two and the Spotland chief said: "Performance-wise there wasn't much wrong and some of the football we produced represented exactly what we are looking for.

"Our results so far this season have mirrored the performances but that wasn't the case on the night.

"I'm not frustrated because I know with the honest endeavour and talent we have in the squad we will be successful.

"Sometimes you have to taste defeat and we've done that. We possibly ran out of a bit of luck in not converting our chances, but fair play to Luton, their tactics were spot on."
