Hill baited by ref's performance

Lee Thorpe and a late spot-kick from substitute Adam Le Fondre twice put Dale in front but Marcus Stewart's double gave Exeter a share of the spoils.[LNB]"In the grand scheme of things it's probably a point gained but in the context of the match it feels like two points lost," he said. "We can't keep conceding stupid goals if we are to earn automatic promotion.[LNB]"I felt the referee ran the game as safe as he could and at times he may as well not have been out there. You see it a lot at youth level and maybe that's where he belongs because it wasn't a good performance from him, it was safe, it was mundane.[LNB]"He didn't turn up and I'll have to check the referee's room to make sure we really had a referee out there. He may point to the fact that he didn't get too much wrong but he never made any brave, correct decisions.[LNB]"He was poor. It seemed to be from the referee's point of view 'pick on Lee Thorpe day'. Lee is a physical player, he's not a dirty player but every time there was physical contact with the opposition he had a free-kick given against him."[LNB][LNB]
