Fringe Dale players go on loan

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has sent two players out on loan ahead of the visit of FC United in the FA Cup first round. Defender Alan Goodall has agreed to join Blue Square Bet Premier side Newport County until January and young midfielder Callum Byrne is heading to Evo-Stik League side Mossley AFC for a month. Hill has no new injury concerns and Craig Dawson, Jason Kennedy and Brian Barry-Murphy, who all picked up knocks at Leyton Orient last weekend, were fit to start against Oldham in midweek. The match was abandoned after seven minutes because of a waterlogged pitch and Hill agrred with the decision. He said: "We didn't want the pitch ripping up for the sake of one game."
