Double deal for Dale

Rochdale have completed the signings of Morecambe utility man David Perkins and Blackpool winger Rory Prendergast.

Twenty-four-year-old Perkins, who can play in defence or midfield, joins for an undisclosed fee on a contract running until the end of next season.

He told his new club's official website: "To move into the Football League is fantastic and I'm over the moon to be here.

"I know there is a step up and I know it won't be easy, but I believe it's a step I can take without any problem."

Meanwhile, Prendergast has penned a 12-month at Spotland, after finding first-team opportunities limited with the Seasiders.

He commented: "I'm delighted to have made the move and I'm looking forward to playing first-team football again.

"I felt it was the right time to move on for me. I'm 27 now and at my age you have to be playing first-team football."
