Rochdale defender Craig Dawson insists he will not get carried away by his remarkable rise to prominence. The the 20-year-old has risen from non-league obscurity to help Dale to their first promotion in 36 years and secure a move to Barclays Premier League outfit West Brom. He has been named North West League Two Player of the Year following his outstanding performances for Keith Hill's side, with whom he will remain until the end of the season before heading to the Hawthorns. "It's always nice to be recognised at this type of award ceremony," Dawson told the Manchester Evening News. "We had a great year last year, not just me personally, but the whole team. "We're doing well this season after getting promotion last season and I hope we can carry on in the same way. "I'm focused on doing well with Rochdale but I'm looking forward to making the step up with West Brom when that time comes. The manager has got my feet firmly on the ground though and he won't let me get carried away."
