Dale start season against Vale

Dale, who have lost in the play-offs in the past two seasons, will hope to make a winning start before successive home games against Aldershot and Cheltenham respectively on August 15 and 18. A busy opening month is completed with a trip to Rotherham and a mouthwatering home game against neighbours Bury. Rochdale make the relatively short trip to Crewe on Boxing Day and face Lancashire rivals Morecambe at Spotland two days later. Hill's side wrap up their campaign with a home clash against newly-promoted Burton Albion on May 1 and a final-day trip to Barnet the following week.
