Dale skipper suffers setback

Rochdale skipper Gary Jones has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been out of action since damaging ligaments in the 2-0 defeat of Luton Town in late November.

"We are having to ease off a him a little again now because with medial ligament injuries you think they are right and they aren't," physio Andy Thorpe told the club's official website.

"Gary has had a similar injury before so he knows the situation. It is frustrating for him, but we just have to keep strengthening his knee until he makes the transition from leaving me to training full time with the rest of the squad.

"He had done a great deal of work with me and had the last word and thought that it was time to join in with training.

"He did feel it a little so we have eased off for a while."
