Rochdale have completed their first signing of the summer after Woking defender Jon Boardman agreed to move to Spotland.
The 24-year-old has been a long-time target of Dale boss Steve Parkin and is delighted to have sealed a move to the League Two side.
"I'm very happy that everything is sorted out now," he told the club's official website.
"I knew Rochdale were watching me for at least the last month of the season and I suppose that put a little more pressure on me.
"But we were working towards reaching the play-offs at Woking and once you start playing any thoughts go straight out of your head anyway.
"The first I knew of any real interest was when I got a phone call last Monday morning inviting me to come to Spotland and that's when I knew the interest was serious.
"It's my first chance to play in the league so it's a big challenge for me. I've been pretty consistent in my time at Woking and I'll just continue to try and do my job and my best for Rochdale Football Club."
Boardman came through the youth team ranks at Crystal Palace but moved to Woking in March 2002 after failing to break into the Eagles first team.
He made 126 Conference appearances for the Cardinals, scoring four goals.
