Rochdale have released three players following the end of their short-term deals.
Callum Warburton, Kristian Bowden and Kyle Buckley all joined the Spotland outfit on the summer but failed to significantly impress manager Keith Hill.
Both Warburton and Buckley were loaned out to non-league clubs during the first half of the season.
However, Bowden could return to the League Two club should he prove his fitness after surgery on a hip injury.
Meanwhile, winger Rory Prendergast has also been told he is free to leave when his contract expires later in the month.
"It is a shame that Rory has had to move on but finances often dictate and we are looking to do a little trimming and shape shifting," assistant manager Dave Flitcroft told the club's official website.
