Dale move for Holness

Rochdale have landed defender Marcus Holness on loan from near neighbours Oldham Athletic.

The 18-year-old has yet to break into the first team at the League One club, but has joined Dale on loan until December.

"He's been on loan at Ossett but with no disrespect to them we can give him some good experience here," manager Keith Hill told the club's official website.

Holness captained the Latics' youth team last season and penned his first professional contract in the summer.
