Dale duo ink new deals

Rochdale duo Nathan Stanton and Gary Jones have penned new contracts as boss Keith Hill attempts to extinguish any interest in the pair from other clubs.

Jones will remain at Spotland until the end of the 2008-09 campaign while Stanton has committed himself to the club until June 2008.

"It's great news for everyone connected with the club that we've managed to secure the future of these two players at this club," Hill told Dale's official website.

"It shows they're fully committed to our cause as they've committed their future to the club in respect of next season.

"Our current league status goes against the grain a little with these two players signing, because if they were in any doubt as to where we were going to be this time next season I don't think they'd have signed.

"It's a fact that other clubs enquired about Gary during the window but he wanted to stay here and we're very pleased about that."
