Dale dismiss Thorpe loan talk

Rochdale have moved quickly to dismiss reports linking Lee Thorpe with a loan move to Chester City.

The much-travelled 33-year-old striker has scored six goals in 28 appearances for Dale but has failed to feature in Keith Hill's first-team squad since November.

Assistant manager Dave Flitcroft told the club's official website:" I don't know where the story has come from but it's just that - a story. There's no truth whatsoever in it."

Thorpe has spent just over a year at Spotland following his transfer from Brentford during the 2008 January window.
