    Dale comeback stuns Stanley

    20 Mar 2010 - 17:37:02

League Two leaders Rochdale came from 2-0 down at Accrington Stanley to win 4-2 at the Crown Ground.

A Gary Jones brace and late goals from Chris O'Grady and Kallum Higginbotham sealed the victory, after Michael Symes and John Miles had put Accy well ahead shortly after the hour mark.

Both sides saw red 15 minutes from the end, as goalscorer Symes and Dale midfielder Jason Taylor were given their marching orders.

Notts County kept up the pressure with a 1-0 win at Crewe. Mike Edwards scored the only goal of the game on the hour mark, before Crewe's Ashley Westwood saw red in the final minute.

Bournemouth, another of the sides at the top, lost ground on Rochdale as they lost 3-2 at relegation-threatened Grimsby.

Ashley Chambers scored a last-minute winner for the Mariners, with Jamie Devitt and Michael Coulson hitting their other goals. Jeff Goulding saw red for Bournemouth, with Lee Bradbury and Liam Feeney scoring their goals.

Aldershot won 2-0 at home to Shrewsbury, with the goals coming from Oliver Bozanic and striker Marvin Morgan, while Rotherham defeated Bury 1-0 at the Don Valley stadium thanks to a late strike from Joshua Walker.

Both Hereford and Northampton managed 2-0 home wins against Bradford and Morecambe respectively. The Bulls' goalscorers were Mathieu Manset and Jake Jervis, while the Cobblers had Liam Davis and Ryan Gilligan to thank for their three points.

There were plenty of goals at Torquay, as the Gulls lost 3-2 at home to Lincoln. Chris Sutton's side's scorers were Davide Somma (2) and Cian Hughton, while Nicky Wroe and Chris Zebroski's goals for Torquay turned out to be mere consolations.

Chesterfield suffered in the last minute of their game at Burton Albion, as Greg Pearson scored an equaliser in injury time for the home side.

Goals from Ishmel Demontagnac and Scott Boden, either side of Burton's Russell Penn's strike, looked as if it was going to be another win for the Spireites.

Barnet collected a win at basement boys Darlington thanks to goals from Dave Livermore and Albert Adamoah, with a Gary Breen own goal just a consolation for the home side.

Dagenham came from a goal down at home to Macclesfield to win 3-1, their goals coming courtesy of Danny Green (2) and Abu Ogogo, after Lee Bell had given the away team a half-time lead.

In the day's other game, Cheltenham drew 1-1 at home to Port Vale. John McCombe scored the opener after just eight minutes, only for Medy Elito to score five minutes before half-time for the home team.
