Dale chance excites Rhodes

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has snapped up Ipswich Town's teenage striker Jordan Rhodes on a month's loan after learning that Jon Shaw and Lee Thorpe face spells on the sidelines.

The 18-year-old has made ten first-team appearances from the substitutes bench for Town, but is looking forward top gaining more experience at Spotland.

"Chances have been limited at Ipswich during the start to the season with a couple of signings coming in, so hopefully I can come here and help to improve the team," Rhodes told Dale's official website.

"I left Barnsley to join the Ipswich Academy at the age of 15 and have been at Portman Road ever since, earning a first-year professional contract in the summer.

"I went to Oxford United on loan this time last year and I learned a great deal from it.

"Obviously Rochdale, with the season they had last year are a fantastic club, better than Oxford and it's a great chance for me."
