Dale chairman issues rallying cry to fans

Rochdale chairman Chris Dunphy has called on supporters to turn out in force ahead of this weekend's home clash with Brentford.Dale's 2-0 victory over high-flying Southampton at Spotland on Tuesday left them in sixth spot and encouraged hopes of a second successive promotion.Keith Hill guided the club to their first promotion since 1969 last season and Dunphy says fans should back his side in numbers as they bid to secure a play-off spot."These are halcyon days at Spotland," said Dunphy."I'd dearly love to see those people come out and support their town because we have a team to be proud of and we are re-writing history."We do need the town to get behind us, we are in a great position in the league and the lads need that support to help push them over the line."
