Dale boss set to stick with rookie

Injuries to first-choice shot-stopper Kenny Arthur (back) and reserve Matt Edwards (fractured wrist) meant Taberner was handed his debut in Wednesday's FA Cup first-round replay against Luton. The teenager - Dale's youngest-ever keeper aged just 16 years and 147 days - was on the receiving end as a brace from Kevin Gallen earned Luton a 2-0 win and a second-round trip to Rotherham. Taberner's inclusion against the Hatters was the only change to the starting line-up which drew 3-3 at Luton last weekend. Defender Nathan Stanton will serve the third game of a four-match ban while midfielder Ciaran Toner (shin splints) is edging closer to full fitness but may not be considered for action this weekend.
