Dale take Danny on trial

Former Crewe defender Danny O'Donnell is on trial at Rochdale, joining a contingent of players looking to secure a permanent deal with the npower League One outfit during the club's warm-weather training camp in Spain. O'Donnell was released by the Railwaymen earlier in the summer and could be viewed as a possible replacement for Craig Dawson if the highly-rated centre-back leaves Spotland before the season gets underway. The 24-year-old former Liverpool trainee joins trialists David Buchanan, Lucas Akins, Alan Goodall and Matty Done in boss Keith Hill's travelling party.
