Dale fees revealed

The Football League's latest figures show that Rochdale spent £4,000 on agents fees during the 2009/10 season. In the previous campaign, Dale were one of 19 clubs to make no payments to agents, but this number dwindled to 14 last term as the overall outlay across the league increased significantly. Spending on agents fees by Football League clubs rose to £12.7million over the past 12 months, compared to the 2008/09 figure of £8.8million. "Given the current economic climate, it is worrying to see such a significant amount leaking from the game," said Football League chairman Greg Clarke in response to the report. "This year`s figures demonstrate a considerable increase on those of last season and it is essential that clubs work to reduce this liability over the coming campaign."
