Dale chairman issues rallying cry to fans

Rochdale chairman Chris Dunphy has called on supporters to turn out in force ahead of this weekend's home clash with Brentford. Dale's 2-0 victory over high-flying Southampton at Spotland on Tuesday left them in sixth spot and encouraged hopes of a second successive promotion. Keith Hill guided the club to their first promotion since 1969 last season and Dunphy says fans should back his side in numbers as they bid to secure a play-off spot. "These are halcyon days at Spotland," said Dunphy. "I'd dearly love to see those people come out and support their town because we have a team to be proud of and we are re-writing history. "We do need the town to get behind us, we are in a great position in the league and the lads need that support to help push them over the line."
