Rochdale boss Keith Hill heaped praise on fit-again striker Chris Dagnall, who marked his return to action with a hat-trick in the 4-1 thrashing of Rotherham United.
The 21-year-old had been sidelined for six months due to a knee ligament injury, but struck three times in nine minutes against the Millers, having been introduced as a 68th minute sub for Adam Le Fondre.
A delighted Hill said: "It didn't come as a great surprise to me because I know what Chris Dagnall is capable of.
"He hasn't trained or played anywhere near enough after being out for a long time with injury, but we felt confident about throwing him on in the second half.
"He came to me a couple of hours before the game and asked what the script was. To be honest, he's written his own script."
