Rochdale have been boosted after the FA overturned the red card Ernie Cooksey picked up at Notts County allowing him to play against Charlton in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
The 24-year-old was dismissed during the goalless draw against the Magpies at Meadow Lane on Monday, but Dale appealed immediately and the FA found in favour of the player.
He has now been given a yellow card for the offence and will be eligible to play against Alan Curbishley's Premiership outfit this weekend.
He told the club's official website: "I felt it was harsh at the time. I've suffered this week. I'd like to thank the FA for looking at the incident."
