Brady warning his bunch of Belgium backlash

But Robbie Brady is warning his Republic of Ireland teammates to be on their guard ahead of Saturday's clash, knowing full well that a wounded animal is still a dangerous one.

Despite having a squad full of big names and being ranked second in the world by FIFA, Belgium failed to come together as a team on Monday as Italy ran out fairly comfortable 2-0 winners.

As for Ireland, they earned a draw against Zlatan Ibrahmovic's Sweden and know that a win against Marc Wilmots' side this weekend would see them put one foot in the next round.

But with players such as Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and reported Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan in their ranks, Brady is not about to count Belgium out.

"I'm not sure what they're feeling, but we know they're a top-class team and they'll be coming in prepared," he said. "They're obviously going to be coming to win as well as we are.

"We'll just be doing our part to get ready for them and hopefully it's a good game.

"I'm sure they'll be wanting to pick up some sort of result with the defeat the other night, but we'll just be concentrating on ourselves and hopefully we can do enough to push us forward again."
